At 120 Yards, I am strongly opposed to the use of Artificial Intelligence. I recognize the threats it poses to the the integrity of uniquely human endeavors, to the planet on which we live, and quite frankly to the quality of any work in which it might be applied. There will be no use of AI on this site.
When making the site, I disabled every AI “feature” the registrar of the site would allow me to. As more become available, each of them will be disabled in turn. I have no graphic design skills in the slightest, so if you notice the site as a whole is far more focused on the writing than on any graphics or pictures that could accompany an article, my adamant stance against AI will be why. Should anyone contribute writing to this site in the future, they will not use AI in their writing or editing. If they do, they will never contribute here again. And of course, I will not use AI in my own writing or editing; no practice could be further from who I am or what I believe.
As much as is possible at this point in the internet’s history, this will be an AI-free site. The effort to avoid its use will persist exactly as long as the site does.
